Full Night's Sleep

The first night we returned to Kirkland after our trip to NJ, you slept through the night.  This was certainly a memorable day. :)  Only 8 weeks, we are stoked!

Trip to NJ

We flew to NJ when Korben was about 7 weeks.  The nice thing about flying with infants, as opposed to toddlers, is that they sleep most of the flight as was the case with Korben.  The great thing about this trip was that Korben met lots of his aunts and uncles and Grandpa and Nana, but I was especially excited that he had the opportunity to meet Great Grandpa. 

Day 7 with Baby Korben

After feeling cooped up in the house for a week I decided that I needed to get up and get out. We had been selling/giving away our Sonic season tickets since the baby was born but not tonight.  We headed to Key Arena where you (Korben) saw your first professional basketball game... well you didn't actually see the game since you remained sleeping through the entire game, including the big plays and cheering crowds.  By the way, the Sonics won that night.

Weighing in at - 8lbs 3oz.

Birthday Weather - During the two years we lived in WA I remember it snowing to the point of sticking to the roads one time... on this Monday you were born.

Going Home - We headed for home from Evergreen Hospital just 2 days after your arrival.  When we arrived there were 3 stockings hanging from the fireplace. Dada had them made for our new family of three.  I remember seeing the stocking that read Mom.  It was at this moment that I actually realized I was a mother, that God had entrusted a life into my hands to nourish, to comfort, and to love.

First Few Days -  The first few days were difficult for me... I remember thinking now what.  I have had all these great baby products scattered through  the house now for months ready for the arrival of Baby Widmer #1 and now he is here I don't have a clue what I am doing.  I am not sure anyone can thoroughly  prepare for the life change that takes place after the arrival of a baby.
