Korben has renamed Kenzie to SaSa. I can remember when Ryan would call my Dad Grandma instead of Grandpa. We all joined in the cause to teach Ryan that my father was GrandPA not GrandMA. We all would utter PAPAPAPA hence fore, my father is now Papa. We have tried it all and we just can't seem to figure out how Sasa came from Kenzie. Korben my darling you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. Thank you.

It's the Fall.
Some children jump in leaves during the beautiful fall months, but when you don't have leaves compromise and jump anyway, all you need is really big pile of laundry.

A nicely chilled W.
One of the great things about having children is watching how creative they can be with simple things like pot, pans, and strainers. I am not sure who was responsible for this but here is what I found in the refrigerator today. I just love finding things like this, a strainer in the refrigerator with the magnetic letter W inside of it.

You know it's been a rough day when....
your husband grabs a baby bottle full of formula instead of a flash light to go outside.

Dishwasher Fun
I wish I could figure out why my children are so fascinated with the dishwasher. Korben on the left and Kenzie on the right.

Lovin' Livin' at the Beach
There are numerous reasons that living at the beach is so glorious... and there is only one reason why babies waking up early is nice... the sunrise!

From Story Time to Chaos Time
I thought the kids looked so cute reading their stories next to each other so peacefully. Peace became chaos...

First Steps
Makenzie gets extremely frustrated when she can't get to her toys fast enough, especially if Korben is around to get to them first. She was just as determined to walk as she was to crawl. Today she took her first 2 steps. Jeff and I got extremely excited for MK and during this exciting moment MK received most of our attention. Korben didn't take well to this sudden shift in attention, so in plane Korben style he decided that he needed to demonstrate his walking abilities. With bent knees, a hunched over back, and arms hanging limb he began to waddle around the kitchen...and then the bedroom and onto the living room. We cheered for Korben just as we did Makenzie but wait isn't Makenzie supposed to learn from Korben not the other way around. :)

Potty Time
We bought Korben a potty about a month ago to familiarize him with life outside of diapers. Since the purchase it has been only used as a step stool to climb onto furniture, beds, etc. but today he hit the target with his first sprinkle. Here is a picture of Korben testing his new potty on the day we bought it, reading material and all.

Ryan's & Hannah's Birthday
Because we got a late start and then sat in lots of traffic we missed Ryan & Hannah's birthday party but below are some pictures of the after party.

Standing MK
Makenzie crawled over to Grandma's rocking chair and pulled herself up, although once she is standing she is not sure what to do next.

Spelling Bee
Since I am the worst speller known to man I figured I better give the kids a head start in this area. Here is a picture of MK watching the Spelling Bee at Grandma & Papa's house.

Dinner Mints
There is one nice thing about living in Westwood (even though we just moved out), the downtown. For those of you who don’t know Westwood, it has a great little downtown area with lots of ridiculously expensive sheik shops that I would never waste my money on (seriously I stopped in one of the “boutiques” and they wanted $500.00 for a pair of jeans… I quickly found the exit sign) and some really nice quaint restaurants. Due to my lack of time for cooking I have found the downtown Chinese/ Japanese restaurant (I know what you are thinking; how can a restaurant be both Chinese and Japanese?) that I have kept in business since our arrival. Typically on Thursday nights (I don’t know why they tend to be Thursday nights), I pack up the ducklings in the stroller and walk to the “Asian” restaurant. Here is what happened a couple Thursdays back. The counter girls greeted me like usual, I picked up a menu like usual (although I do have it somewhat memorized), and the girls began to ooh & ah at the kids. I held the menu thinking of what to order, Chinese…no… Japanese… no we had that last week… both… no sushi with an egg roll doesn’t sound good tonight. I am forced to quickly make up my mind because both Korben and MK have given me the cue that I have stopped the moving stroller for entirely too long. As I am ordering I notice that one of the hostesses has given Korben a handful of chocolate covered dinner mints. So I am not totally freaking out yet because the dinner mints are individually wrapped and I can quickly remove them from his stroller tray without a struggle. I continue ordering… and the hostess proceeds to feed Korben a mint. This is the point where I go from the friendly sweet mama, to the insane mama I can be when it comes to the food my children eat. Now, a couple thoughts here, one, who feeds another’s child without permission. Two, who feeds mints to another’s child without permission. Three, who feeds chocolate mints to another’s child without permission. I quickly leave the restaurant. I take a look at Korben, who at this point has obviously taken quite a liking to having his breath freshened. His mouth along with the rest of his face has turned blue… no not from an allergic reaction … but from a blue chocolate covered dinner mint… ahhh the joys of having children. :)
We continue on to the train station to greet Dad off the train. Dad’s first words, “What happened to Korben’s face?”

Mama Goes Dancin' 80's Style
Thanks to Rachelle, Momma was able to get out to the city for an Awesome 80’s Prom. For her bachelorette party the girls took Rachelle to an interactive show at Webster Hall called the Awesome 80’s Prom. I know Rachelle had a great time but Momma had just as much fun. I don’t get out dancing much these days. We insisted that Rachelle wear an 80’s prom dress that we just happened to have on hand… thanks Aunt Geri for the fuchsia dress with the large rhinestones down the side with the extremely large pleated off-the- shoulder sleeves. I sported my Cube Fever T-shirt and lots of jelly bracelets and danced the night away to Footloose, Wham, and a little Bon Jovi.
