Simple Things

My wonderful hubby makes breakfast practically every morning.  He’ll make pancakes, eggs, potatoes, muffins, etc.  I will wash frying pans and pots but I hate washing the muffin pan.  Do muffin pans ever really come clean?  Mine sits on the counter for about 3 days before I attempt the impossible.  Getting the pan into the sink for soaking is a step in the right direction. After about a day of soaking I begin to scrub and after a few minutes I give up and think this time the dishwasher will clean it (even though it hasn’t the last 5 times I put it in there).  The dishwasher makes things worse by baking the food remnants in.  Now even more frustrated I put the pan away to deal with it next time.

As I was walking through the grocery store yesterday something wonderful caught my eye… muffin baking cups.  Why hadn’t I thought of this earlier?  They must have had these here the thousands of other times I have grocery shopped.  How did I miss them?  It didn’t matter I was so excited to purchase these colorfully decorated baking cups.  I love when something so simple brightens my day, makes my life in the kitchen a little less stressful.  Simple things…I hope that I can remember slow down in life a little bit more so I don’t miss the joy that simple things in life give… like muffin baking cups.

Tis' the Season

Who cuts down a 12 foot Christmas tree when the ceiling height is only 9 feet?     The Widmers

Who's 9 foot Christmas tree falls over just as the last ornament is hung?    The Widmers

Who attempts to fix a broken ornament with super glue and fails to fix the ornament but super glues the broken piece to the the table top?  That would be me.

In this picture below the feet of the snowman are super glued to the table.

Korben's Car Lot

Korben loves little Matchbox cars… but how many cars one little boy have?  And this is only a portion of the car lot.

Looking on the bright side part 2.

The benefit of having a heaping pile of DIRTY clothes on my laundry floor is that I can reach the top shelf easily to grab a roll of paper towels.

Looking on the bright side.

At least the mountain of clothes piled on my dining room table are all CLEAN.
